LuxeFeet and Orthotics
Orthotics are best known as customised arch supports which are designed to aid in foot support, improve stability and cushioning. Ideally, the foot is corrected or re-aligned to restore the natural foot position.
At LuxeFeet, we understand feet and how crucial it is to keep moving … pain free.
Types of Orthotics available at LuxeFeet include:
1. Customised Prescription Orthoses
This includes a thorough biomechanical assessment, footwear assessment and casting. At Luxe Feet, we use a combination of 3D Scanning, Foam Impression Boxes and Plaster Casting to obtain the best foot impression.
Our custom prescription orthoses are individually prescribed and fitted by your podiatrist. Each product is personalised, balanced with intrinsic shell corrections, well contoured and ultra-thin for optimal shoe fit. Finished with a large range of shell options, top covers and padding options.
2. Semi – Custom Orthoses (or Pre-Cast Orthotics)
These orthotics are still produced with the same characteristics and quality as custom orthoses, but without a cast or impression, thereby reducing the cost. These are a cost-effective solution often ideal for children or adults who need minimal corrections and support.
Orthoses may be incorporated as part of a treatment plan to prevent and treat acute and chronic injury, trauma, over-use injuries, poor foot alignment, reduced fat pad, increase foot stability and overall posture.
At LuxeFeet your initial consultation will include a thorough history and examination of the area, with a concise treatment plan.
This often involves a combination treatment which may include strapping or imobilising the area, compression and support, a tailored strengthening and stretching exercise program, footwear assessments and recommendations and Low Light Laser Therapy for both pain relief and healing (see our Laser Pain Management section).
Orthotics are also used for those individuals who want to address overall foot health concerns and prevent foot pathology. We also prescribe orthotics for the non-painful foot.
Specific foot pathology may include:
- Plantar fasciitis
- Heel spurs
- Morton’s neuroma
- Bursitis
- Heel pain
- Achilles tendonitis
- Bunions
- Ankle instability
- Flat feet
- Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain)
- Sesamoiditis
